You’ll Get in Amazing Shape
One of the great things about stand up paddle boarding (SUP) is it’s a low impact sport so that means you can get in great shape without destroying your body in the process.
Unlike many other activities, SUP activates muscles through out your whole body, from your feet to your shoulders. It builds strength, balance, and endurance. One of my personal favorites is it’s an excellent core workout as well.
Getting in shape is easy with paddle boarding, because you don’t have to look up tons of exercises to get a good workout. You just have to get out there and do it!
2. You Can Take it Anywhere
Paddle boarding is extremely versatile because you can pretty much do it anywhere where there’s water. This includes oceans, lakes, rivers, even large ponds!
The adventure is nearly endless. Take it with you on vacation or rent one from an exotic place.
3. You’ll Get in Touch With Nature
Have you ever seen an octopus change colors up close?
Did you know the best sunset you can ever witness is one right on the ocean. As the sun sets the light is reflected back on the surface, and you get the most vibrant sunsets you’ll ever see.
Or how about watching fish swirl underneath your board or watching dolphins play around you?
These are things you can only witness from the view of a paddle board. The world is a beautiful place. Take a moment to go out there and appreciate it for yourself.
4. You’ll Make Life Long Friends
The SUP community is among the best out there. Since it’s one of the fastest growing water sport, there are tons of people you can find who are at the same experience as you. You’ll also be able to find very experienced paddlers who will love to share with you their knowledge.
Paddling with others is a great way to get to know them. The rhythmic flow of the water along with the steady paddling creates a great environment for conversations and discussions.
5. You’ll Get a Nice Tan
Paddle Boarding is done outdoors. This means that you’ll get plenty of sun and vitamin D!
What makes it easy is the time goes quickly when you’re having fun. When you’re ready to relax you can just lay right on your board.
With the water ripples, it’s like having a comfortable, soothing hammock gently rocking you to a state of calmness.
As always, remember to bring your sunscreen with you.
6. There are Many Ways to Paddle Board
Many people don’t realize you can do a lot more with paddle boarding. There’s always one that fits you and your lifestyle. Some examples are…
•SUP Surfing
•Casual Paddling
•SUP Yoga
•Long Distance Paddling
•Cardio Training
•SUP Racing
7. You’ll Definitely Catch More Waves
If you are someone who enjoys catching waves, paddle boarding has one big advantage.
You can go out there and catch 3 to 4 times more waves than traditional surfing. It’s because once you catch a wave, you can get back out to the swell so much faster.
This is also a great way to get into surfing if you’ve never done it before.
8. You Can Destress
We all live stressful lives. Whether it’s from job, family, relationships, etc, there’s just something soothing about being surrounded by a body of water.
When I’m stressed, I go on a solo paddle and just let all my worries behind.
Sometimes we get caught up in our problems, thinking they are the end of the world.
Being in nature gives you a humbling experience and makes you realize how big the world is.
This helps in being able to handle the problems in our lives.
9. Anyone Can Paddle Board
As we shared before there’s so many activities you can do on a paddle board.
It can be as intense as you want or relaxing as you need. It doesn’t matter how old or young you are, there’s a paddle boarding method that you’ll love.
The only mistake you can do is not even try SUP.
10. You’ll Have So Much Fun!
There’s a reason why paddle boarding is quickly growing in popularity.
Because it’s so much fun!
There’s so many ways you can do it. So many opportunities of discoveries and even self discoveries.
Sometimes as we get older, we forget to have fun. Make time for fun, and you’ll see a drastic change in the quality of your life.
